This week we will be moving practice to Tuesday and Thursday which is the way it will probably stay for the rest of the time due to the fact that activity buses no longer run on Wednesday. Also this weekend on Sunday, February 15th we will be having the opportunity to go to Elk River and participate in the biathlon part of this program, we will need one or 2 parents to help drive and coach/ watch the kids so if you can help please let me know asap. We will need to leave Anwatin by 9:00 on Sunday and will be returning around 3:00 please let me know if you are attending and if you would be able to drive up and help out.

Great job everyone!
Race Results from Saturday’s Junior Loppet are online. The results are separated by grade, so you can see where you stack up against other students in your class.
Photos are also currently linked in from the front page of skinnyski.com. I’ll try to update the location if they move to another page, or I get photos myself to add to this site.

Here are the results from the second race this past Wednesday.
- Kieran – 29:42
- Brad – 32:26
- Levi – 33:49
- Amir – Wrong turn…
- Frank -Pre-Race Injury
Nice job to everyone! The snow conditions were a bit slower leading to ski times a little slower than last week. This is common in skiing, as conditions change, times will be faster or slower. We always want to be faster as we get better at skiing, but sometimes the ski course and snow conditions make a bigger difference than how much we go out training. But we still need to get out and ski as much as possible to get stronger and learn better technique!

Wednesday practice is going to be a bit different this week. We have a race to attend a Theodore Wirth park at 4:00pm. To do this we need to get the kids out of school on Wednesday at 2:30. Ben and I will pick them up there and bring whomever is attending to Theodore Wirth for the race.
Parents need to call the school if your athlete is planning on attending to get them out at 2:30 on Wednesday. Be sure to mention it is for the ski team and that myself and Ben Kremer will be picking them up.
I strongly encourage all to attend. While not everyone is ready to race, it will be good for them to at least watch and get some skiing in. There will be a large JV field at this race so the competition should be ideal.
This will be Wednesday’s practice so there will be no practice after school at 4:00, please email me or call to let me know if your athlete is planning on attending or if you have any concerns.
Parents are strongly encouraged to come and watch. For those of you (parents) who pick up their athletes after practice should pick them up at 5:00 at Theodore Wirth Chalet. For those who ride the activity bus we will try and have you back in time if not we will provide rides home.
Dress appropriately. Bring workout pants to race in for those who havent been given ski clothes, and make sure to layer top and bottom. Wednesday should be fairly warm, but its always safe to have more clothes then not enough. The kids will be given a race jacket to race in so they should have at least a long sleeve shirt on underneath, and as always, hats and gloves.
Thanks,

This week
We will be having practices on Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday this week, (Saturday 9:00 am at the Wirth Chalet)
There is a very high possibility that we will be able to get those who want to participate into a conference high school race this week I believe on Wednesday, we may have to get those athletes out of school slightly early to be able to compete, I will be able to drive them over there from school I believe it is at theodore wirth.
I am talking with the Southwest coach to confirm all of this and will hopefully be able to email you full details asap.
